Large ‘Black River’ Ottoman Tray

This one of a pair of large square ‘black river’ ottoman trays is made from Scottish Elm and black resin.

The wood, which was sustainably grown, is ‘spalted burr elm’ which has been sliced to create two ‘book-matched’ halves. This technique gives the tray symmetry and a uniquely individual design. The black resin ‘river’ looks opaque against a solid surface but has an interesting translucency when held towards the light.

The tray has a recessed bottom for strength and it sits on rubber feet for further stability. All exposed wood surfaces have been finished with hard wax oil. 100% UK made.
