Frequently Asked Questions!
It normally takes 4-6 weeks to make a bespoke furniture commission as this involves selecting the right wood for the project and time for design, making and curing (if special materials such as resins are involved in production). We keep in touch throughout the process.
Prices are inclusive of relevant taxes.
For UK and Ireland orders the cost of delivery is quoted at checkout (see our Delivery Policy for further information). We aim to deliver within 2-6 working days. Oversize orders may be delivered using specialist courier services.
We do not a present offer a shipping service to countries outside of the UK and Ireland.
Bespoke commissions are charged 50% upfront – before materials are selected. The balance is payable upon completion. Bespoke orders are non-refundable.
Furniture pieces are QC checked before they leave my workshop and are shipped but as is the nature of handmade furniture, every piece will have its own character due to the natural appearance of the wood selected and the fact that it is handmade. Your piece will not look or feel mass- produced. Each item is a one-off unique piece of furniture which has involved many hours of attention until I am satisfied it is ready to leave my workshop.
Resin is often used to enhance the aesthetics of DAMA designed furniture and in our river and lagoon tables, it is an essential material. Resin takes about two months to cure completely in ambient conditions. Therefore during this time avoid placing hot things directly onto the surface (us a mat to avoid scratches and rings). Once fully cured the surface is very resilient. The good thing with resin finished furniture is that the surface can be sanded to remove scratches and re-polished to restore its original lustre.
For ongoing maintenance, the occasional use of a product like Liquid Wax Cleaner from Osmo helps to clean and refresh the wood. Any film that forms across a resin surface can be polished off once dry.
