Story

From City to Country...

Having spent most of my career working in Marketing for large corporates, I reached a point like many of us do, where I wanted to take back control and step away from the treadmill. I’ve always enjoyed working with wood and DAMA Designs is my way of taking a passion for working with wood and contemporary design and turning it into more than just a hobby.

The name DAMA comes from my Anglo-Nigerian name Daramola-Martin (but that’s another story for another time!).

All my items are bespoke and of course, handmade. I specialise in making furniture, homeware and wall decor from wood and resin which I describe as ‘Functional Art’. I mainly use UK grown hardwoods that have been sustainably managed and sourced from local wood yards.

I take commissions and will work with you to design a bespoke piece to fit a special place in your home.

If you have a project in mind, why not give me a call…

I have a wide collection of my work at The Barn Emporium.

I have also recently joined the team of artisans featured on BBC1’s Money for Nothing programme! New episodes are always airing…
