This one of a kind hand painted 34 piece chess set in a solid elm box is guaranteed to be unlike anything else you will find and is designed for those who enjoy chess but also appreciate functional art.
The box is handmade from Scottish Elm and the top from rose gold resin inlaid with burr Elm and ebonised Ash. Inside the box, each piece is neatly and securely held in place with an innovative magnet array.
The Staunton tournament chess pieces are moulded, triple+ weighted and resin filled. Each piece is hand painted, resin coated and finished with a felt base. All the pieces from pawns to the Kings are reassuringly heavy. The Kings stand 10.2cm (4in) tall and sit on 4.8cm diameter bases. Each King weighs over 70g. The set of 34 pieces comes with two extra Queens for pawn promotion.
