A beautiful piece of Scottish Elm has been hand crafted with black resin to create this large and unique piece of functional art which can be hung as wall decor or used as an ottoman tray.
The wood, which was sustainably grown, has been sliced to create two ‘book-matched’ halves. This technique gives the tray symmetry and a uniquely individual design. Black resin encases the wood and looks opaque against a solid surface but has an interesting translucency when held towards the light.
The tray has a recessed bottom for strength and it sits on rubber feet for further stability. The top surface has been flood coated to produce a high gloss finish which is also heat resistant. All exposed wood surfaces have been finished with hard wax oil. 100% UK made.
